Ride to Conquer Cancer – Vancouver to Seattle – June 19-20, 2010

06.21.10

Thank-you so much to those who supported me and allowed me to participate in quite a unique event! Wow was it ever an experience! I am back from Seattle a little bit sore, but with a big smile on my face =) It was a great event, beautiful sun on the first day of riding (unfortunately raining and cold the second day), I didn’t get any flat tires and enjoyed the company of 2200+ other riders. Overall, we were out on our bikes or at pit stops for 6+ hours, border line up was a breeze, had a hot shower at camp, then hopped on my bike again the next day. One of my favourite memories was hopping on to the “Euro Train” – 5 or 6 big, tall guys on an “Alberto European hair product” team all decked out in their bright blue uniform, they passed by me at a really good speed going into headwind and I just thought to myself, “got to hop on!!” So a few of my team members (plus other strangers) hopped on, tucked in behind those guys, and finished really strong!

Anybody who loves to ride a bike, I would highlly suggest participating. The fundraising is for a great cause, and you will be well supported off and on the road. Tons of people cheering you on and lots of inspiring stories.
