Body Composition Analysis
Did you know the average human brain is made up of 60% fat? Have you ever wondered how much fat and muscle is in your body? With a quick and simple 7 minute Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA) Body Composition Scan, find out:
• Your overall and subregional body fat %
• Amount of lean muscle mass and any muscle imbalances between limbs
• Your total bone mineral content (BMC)
• Amount of calories needed to perform at your best or for weight loss
• A comparison to what is healthy & normal
Combine this tool with exercise to enhance sport performance, reduce health risks, and improve general fitness.
Why DXA?
Why only weigh yourself on a scale when a DXA scan will show you which limb has more muscle, what percent of adipose tissue is in your torso, and accurately determine your overall body fat percentage? It is a great way to set a baseline for where your body is at and check what is a healthy normal for your age and activity level.
In addition, the Body Composition scan will also be used to calculate how many calories your body needs to perform at its best. A follow-up Body Composition scan may be arranged and will show the changes to your muscle and fat mass as you begin to reach your fitness goals.
Who is this for?
In addition to being a great resource for athletes to measure their bodies, a Body Composition scan is equally as benecial for the every day individual as a tool to reduce the risks of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.
